Ad Sales and Brand Partnerships Director/Senior Director, New York/LA

Animaj is hiring!

About

Animaj is a next-generation media company that brings high-quality and inspiring brands to Kids and Families worldwide.

We acquire and transform high-quality IPs into multi-platform franchises, using a digital-first and AI-driven approach.

Our content, produced independently, aims to inspire children to dream, explore, and create.

To bring this vision to life, we have so far raised €100m in debt and equity (from renowned VC investors incl. LeftLane, XAnge and Daphni) and already acquired 3 IPs - including our flagship, Pocoyo - a symbol of European excellence - with more to come.

Job Description

The Ad Sales & Brand Partnerships Director/Senior Director will be responsible for identifying a target list of relevant brands, secure new business, retain key spenders & ultimately increase brand count and video revenue across Animaj’s YouTube and AVOD/FAST channels. You will build awareness with relevant brands and clients while hitting your revenue targets.

This isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to build inside one of the fastest-growing IP companies shaping how the next generation watches, plays, and buys.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasting, reporting and delivery of Animaj’s YT/AVOD revenue.

  • Build client relationships to ensure ongoing business running in the US and North America.

  • Leverage Animaj’s premium catalogue of original content to create key partnerships with all the clients/agencies within your remit.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to agency partners & brand direct - educating them on co-viewing behaviours, platforms consumption shift, and why Animaj leads this space.

  • Identify revenue growth opportunities, and work with cross-functional teams at Animaj to achieve goals.

  • Work towards (and push to exceed) significant targets in reservation ad spend.

  • Pitch effectively and in an accessible way to all levels at agencies and clients who may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the new dynamics of the digital kids and family space.

  • Translate client challenges into Animaj opportunity – leveraging our scale, original content and data engine.

  • Work closely with the AdOps team to ensure smooth delivery of all campaigns once booked with a view to delivering incremental revenue.

  • Lead by example to give motivation to the more junior team members (e.g. Account/Client Success Managers), with a focus on the achievement of their respective KPIs.

  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset – this is not plug-and-play. We will be building the playbook together.

Preferred Experience

  • 8-10 years digital media sales experience handling large revenue portfolios.

  • Extensive knowledge of the digital video ecosystem — platforms, metrics, and revenue.

  • Track record in digital ad sales and a strong established network in New York media agencies.

  • Hunter-first mindset: lead generation skills, account growth, and relentless pursuit of revenue.

  • Demonstrated experience in advertiser direct relationships and knowledge on how to navigate complex marketing teams and brand managers.

  • Relentless curiosity, bias for action, zero ego, extreme ownership.

  • Thinks like a founder. We’re building from almost scratch without any playbook. You’ll help shape the strategy, not just execute it.

  • Ability to operate and lead in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Leads collaboratively, building a strong network of internal stakeholder relationships, breaking silos, and driving alignment across team/specialists.

  • Excellent presentation skills, comfortable with interaction with senior Trading Directors and Heads of Digital.

  • Familiarity with the digital kids/family space is a big plus.
